Properties: Anti-depressant, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, astringent, cicatrizant, cytophylactic, diuretic, febrifuge, fungicide, insecticide, sedative, tonic.

Use: Patchouli is used in perfumery as a fixative due to its stability and long lasting character. Used in the East to scent linen and clothes, and is believed to help prevent the spread of disease (used as a prophylactic which prevents disease). Considered a stimulant in large amounts and a sedative in small amounts.

Additional information: Patchouli is known for stimulating growth and regeneration of skin cells, helping to repair scar tissue and wounds. Also benefits the lymphatic system.
